Evaluation: technologies

I used photo shop for most of my main products to edit the images and to make the actual design. on photo shop I used tools such as the magic  wand tool so i could take away the background from a lot of my images. When I was using Photoshop there was no problem and no disadvantages because there is no other software which allows you to do the same work. everything I did on Photoshop i learnt when making my magazine since i had never used the software before.

I had to use a camera to take all of my pictures and while using a camera I learnt techniques like focusing. 

When making my product I had to use websites like flipsnack and survey monkey. I used flipsnack and had a few problems for example i couldn't make a title page or a front cover which left the flipsnacks looking bland and unprofessional. I used survey monkey to create my survey. With survey monkey i only had 2 problems with the website which was only allowed having 10 questions and it being difficult to access the survey results.

Magazine publisher and distributer

I believe that mama & company would be the best publisher of my magazine because mama & co have already had an extremely popular magazine called The Fly meaning they would know what the magazine would have to do to sell and help out with some of the design ideas. Also since their magazine The Fly stopped publishing this would leave a huge open gap in the market and in their published magazine that my magazine would hope to fill.

I did not choose a publisher like IPC media because i do not feel like i would have much control over the magazine and that they mainly specialize in magazines like lifestyle and hobbies and my indie rock magazine would not fit in with these.

Location, Props and Costume

Location:
For the location I used the green screen room at college to take all of my photos. I used this room because it was spacious and the green background made it very easy to edit out the background. I also use studio lamps to light up the model and the background.

Costume:
For all three of my models i kept the same outfit on each model.My first model is wearing black jeans a red checkered shirt with a white t-shirt underneath, he also wore a watch. My second model wore black jeans and a black t-shirt and the third model wore black jeans with a white and black raglan long sleeve t-shirt with the sleeves rolled up.

Props:
In the picture on my main feature article I used a chair for my model to sit on.i decided to not use many props and make the pictures better by using different poses and use different amounts of eye contact.

Production Schedule

Week 1 (October 12th) start and finish first 3 drafts for first 3 products
Week 2 & 3  (November 2nd & November 9th) Start all three final products
Week 4 (November 16th) Take photos with Caleb Nathan and Sam
Week 5 (November 23rd) Add photos to all 3 products
Week 6,7&8 (December 7th - January 6th) continue all products
Week 9 (January 13th) finish all 3 products
Week 10 (January 20th) make all the final changes
